Lets talk about how kat's day was.
So I get into work at 4, to find they have fixed the film machine that was broken for too days. Lets think about this for a second.
Walgreens photo department. Broken film developer. How many overdue rolls are there to do when I get in? That's right 11. For some reason despite the fact it was fixed since that morning and there were TWO people working when i came in none had been done. Why? because someone sent an order that consisted of 800 pictures through in front. All those orders that were due TWO DAYS before it? no lets send the largest fucking one we have through. Worst of all the person who did it? The photo department head. That's great. Your my fucking boss, I've been working here for 3 weeks and know better than you? Seriously why do I have to clean up my boss' mess? So I look at what the other guy is doing, he's prying open a disposable camera. He asks "what do you do when the film is half out?"
You have GOT to be kidding me.
No one thought to tell the noob on his first day that if you get a camera you need to make sure it's on zero before prying it open or the film is fucked. HEY MANAGER you are totally right there. Why have you not told him this as you have him do this shit? It's the poor guy's fist day and your letting him fuck with things that can be ruined? Great. Have to slap a label on that one saying it's ruined. I'm sure the customer will be pleased.
Then they leave, I get to work cleaning up the various messes. As soon as the 800 picture one goes through I throw the 15 or so waiting digital orders of around 1-20 pictures through. Boom boom boom. Clear those off. Then I get started on on the waiting overdue rolls, alternating them with 100 picture digital orders so while those print the film develops and when the film is done those print out. Clears up most of the mess. 4 overdue films left.
The machine jams again.
Did I mention we ran out of tape for attaching the leader card to the film 5 days ago so we've been using packaging tape? Packaging tape doesn't work. It means the film can fall off and get stuck. Which it did 2 days ago and then again today. I don't have the luxury of waiting for a tech to come in again so I have to disassemble the $60,000 machine find the film, and put it back together. The film is stuck in the chemicals, I have to pull it out.
Now I am splattered with dangerous chemicals. Lovely.
I put it back together, and restart it. It starts but now it won't scan the film after it develops. Ok, I don't care. As long as it's developed and intact you can always make more pictures. Then the machine runs out of paper. This is reels of photo paper, as in light sensitive, So I get to use the dumb ass little tent with the arm holes. Oh wait, I don't. We have no more paper. I have to go out back and find it because no one knows where it is. Thankfully we do have some, unfortunately each roll weighs at least 50 pounds and I need to bring up the box of 4 of them. More fun. I now have to load them up on the wheely thing and push them which is annoying because they are very awkwardly shaped and almost fall off onto my feet.
I get the paper change it, and put it in. The last few orders go through until the only remaining ones are due the next day. I probably shoved through 30 or so orders in 6 hours. I am rewarded by being sent to the main cash register AFTER 10 when I was supposed to be off. Oh that's just so great. Like I haven't done enough today?
I get back to the photo place and grab my bag only to have some other manager I've never met come in and yell at me because the machine had broken and the orders had become backed up. EXCUSE ME? You have to be shitting me. It was down for 2 days and it's because I fucked up? I should have been able to fix it with my 3 weeks of knowledge apparently even though the other photo techs, photo manager, the at least 5 other mangers and the store manager couldn't?
You fucking bitch. I just cleaned up this god damn mess and you have the nerve to blame me. Fuck you. and go to hell.
